My Dinner With Andrea is based on the hit 1981 comedy-drama film by actor-writers Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory. Set in early eighties New York City, the play is about two longtime friends who haven’t seen each other in ages. Andrea (played by Ayleen Augustine), has dropped out of mainstream society after a successful theatrical career. Wanda (played by Jen McCuiston), is a struggling playwright and actor who reluctantly agrees to reunite with Andrea at a swank restaurant for what turns out to be a mystical, intense and humorous evening of food, drink, storytelling and multi-layered perspectives on the world we find ourselves living in.
The play features an all Woman cast and is presented in the intimate surroundings of the Fireside Theatre of Campbell UCC.
